Can I input words and their definitions into Excel and link the Excel file to an HTML webpage? Is there a program I could use to use a JS search function to create a medical dictionary?

MS Office files contain a lot of extra information beyond just the data you put into the spreadsheet/document/etc. Short answer is yes, but you could be better off using something simple like a .csv file. Best answer ultimately depends on your needs.
