After so many years of existence and functionality needs expressed by users, why the library of functions in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets did not grow significantly to simplify recurring routines?

I have been frustrated about this too in the past. Then I switched to MS Office 365 and am enjoying a whole new experience with new features added regularly!! It is a paid subscription compared to Office 2016 or now 2019, so you would want to make sure it is the right product for you. As an Insider, I get early updates as well.

Also, it is worth some times doing some digging around; in some cases, you may be able to find a solution to your problem by changing your default settings (one I like to always do is to disable "move selection down after editing" in the advanced options). For feedback to MS Office, use the link excel.uservoice.com for new ideas or visit Excel forums - there are ton of them out there, and there are some very smart guys who can help you create tons a of shortcuts that will simplify your daily routine.
