Excel is unique in that it holds all data in RAM while Excel is open. If you have a large file, have numerous notebooks, or are using complicated mathematical equations, this information is held in RAM. When the computer does not have enough available RAM, the file may become corrupted. It is best to start a new version of Excel each time you use it and close and reopen Excel prior to working in any large or complicated file. This may the issue. Additionally, many third party Add-ons can cause file corruption.
further, you may have a general problem where you need to reinstall either Windows or Excel, perhaps both, or you may need to do a repair in the software. Also, check the version of Excel that you are using to ensure that it is compatible with The Microsoft version you are using.
