Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line satisfying the given conditions. Parallel to 7x+3y= -61 Through (-7,-12)

This is what I have so far

Start with 7x+3y= -61

y=mx+b

Y=-7/3x - 61/3 correct?

It is asking for parallel so it must have the same slope which is -7/3 correct?

Now is where I need the help

Okay thank you for the help. I am with you until the -85/3=b
How do we turn -12=49/3+b into the -85/3=b

Subtracting 49/3 from both sides.

-12 - 49/3 = -36/3 - 49/3 = -85/3.

Better?
