There are three things to do here.
First, do you know what slope-intercept form is? It is an equation of the form y = m*x + b. That means you have to isolate the y on one side of the equation, and get x multiplied by only a constant plus a constant on the other side.
To do that, takes two steps:
First, apply the distributive law to 1/2 * (x + 3). Do you know the distributive law? It applies in a case like this: 2 * (x + 1) = 2x + 1.
Second, eliminate the -4 on the left-hand side of the equation. How would you solve x - 3 = 0? Apply the same logic to your problem.
