It is important to balance fun with purpose and effective communication. Depending on the nature of your presentation, there are elements that make your powerpoint stand out in a sea of boring PowerPoints. If you are presenting to an informal audience take full advantage of slide transitions and element animations. I also suggest browsing Microsoft's slide design database and downloading a design different then the standard designs you get with the program. Finally, add images and videos to your slide so that you are telling a story with your info. Limit each slide to 5 bullet points all taking one line or less. Use Font sizes of at least 18pt. To make beautiful slides utilize the design tab on newer versions of PP and click the Generate Design Ideas button!
