Why is my presentation file size so huge?

The most common reason for an oversized file type is complex images and video files embedded in the presentation. PowerPoints are relatively small in size <50mb unless there is significant amounts of info coming from external sources including tables, complex graphics, complex backgrounds, 3D animations, excessive number of slides, external code sources, external hyperlinks, etc.
