Most resumes have 15 seconds to sell the reader that you fit their need. Your resume must make you look, walk, and talk like what the employer seeks. One suggestion is to include a branding section on your resume if you have not done so already. This brief 20-seconds section at the top of your resume includes language that you have what it takes. The use of keywords on your resume, membership in related associations, and courses are other ways to present an image that is appealing to the reader.
SANS Forensic Course -worth it?
I'm a Security Student at Pennsylvania State University and I am considering taking FOR408 through SANS this summer in Pittsburgh (not far from my home). I really want this to help me stand out in my resume and plus I'm just interested. The cost is not an issue. As for my current skill level I spoke with my security professor and he felt that I would be able to handle the work. I would really appreciate any feedback or opinions that anyone could offer me.
