Hello there!
Optimizing a mac is a very broad term and could translate to many different things!
If your looking to optimize storage, you can view your overall storage through settings>storage on your computers setting panel. From there you can see what is taking up the majority of storage and remove what you feel makes sense!
If your looking for overall speed for your mac, it may be worth it for you to see the resources that are being taken up by your machine and comparing it the hardware it currently has. This may be a little more daunting of a task but I can certainly help with it as its more involved.
Finally, if you have a backup of your machine and are looking for an overall fresh start to make things feel similar to when you first got your machine a restore may be the solution your looking for. That being said this is a very invasive step and I would caution you to make sure everything is backed up before pursing it!
I hope this helps and feel free to reach out with any other questions!
