y = -3x/4 - 1 = (-3/4)x- 1
When x = 0, y = -1. We have one point. We need another to draw the line for the equation.
If y = 0, then 0 = -3x/4 -1
1 = -3x/4
x = -4/3
So the line can be drawn that goes through (0,-1) and (-4/3,0).
For -4x + 7y = -28, when x = 0, y = -4.
When y = 0, x = 7. The points to draw the line are (0, -4) and (7, 0).
Notice that I have used 0 for simplicity and have found both the x- and y-intercepts for the line.
