Simplifying algebraic fractions

Question

How did we simplify this equation to get "n=1650" ?
                       

                        500+n-350 =n-500 
                                     2

  (P.s ... 500 is not divided by 2, its 500, plus the number n-350/2 that gives us n-350.......how did we end up with n=1650 ?)

500 + (n - 350)/2 = n - 500

(n - 350)/ 2 = n - 1000        subtract 500 form both sides

n - 350 = 2n - 2000            multiply both sides by 2

-350 = n - 2000                  subtract n from both sides

1650 = n                            add 2000 to both sides
