first equation 7x-2y-10=0 

second equation 7x+4y=22

 7x - 2y = 10

7x + 4y = 22   Subtract the two equations

       -6y = -12

y = 2

7x -2y = 10

7x - 2(2) = 10

7x - 4 = 10

7x = 14

x = 2
