Thinking of a number question

i am thinking of a number. Half the sum of that number and 11 is the same as 2 more than the number. What is the number?

(1/2)(n + 11) = n + 2

Isolate n.
 
Multiply both sides by 2:
 
n + 11 = 2n + 4
 
Subtract n from both sides:
 
11 = n + 4
 
Now subtract 4 from both sides and finish.
