Hi James,
What you need to do is to graph these coordinates on the coordinate system (or the xy plane).
For the first coordinate (-2, -7), you can graph it as follows:
-2 is the x-coordinate, and -7 is the y-coordinate
Then you can do the same for the other two points. Finally, connect these three points and you will see the triangle. From there calculate each side of this triangle and then add these three sides up to get its perimeter.
It is hard to explain this without drawing a picture.
