I don't know how to get answer

2 children bd this week. Factor of ages is 24. 36 is multiple of both ages. 30 is multiple of one but not other.  Sum of ages is 14.  How old is each one?

factors of 24 are 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24

pick two factors of 24 that add up to 14 and that are also factors of 36(36 is a multiple of both)

after doing this, only one number is a factor of 30(30 is a multiple of only one)

2 and 12

2+12=14

36 is a multiple of both numbers

30 is a multiple of 2 but not a multiple of 12
