k - 6 = 4(j - 6) ------> k - 6 = 4j - 24 -----> 4j - k = 18

j + 2k = 126

 

We can do this a few ways. Let's multiply the top equation by 2.

 

8j - 2k = 36

j + 2k = 126

 

If we add those two equations together...

 

9j = 162

j = 18

 

2k = 126 - 18

k = 63 - 9

k = 54
