Area of circle:
A = pi·r2
- pi = 3.14159...
- r = radius = 8.5 cm
Area of trapezium:
A = (1/2)(B1+B2)·h
- B1 = length of one base = 25 cm
- B2 = length of other base = 20 cm
- h = height of trapezium
The areas are equal so set them equal and plug in the known numbers:
pi·r2 = (1/2)(B1+B2)·h
pi·(8.5²) = (1/2)(25+20)·h
Solve for h.
