How do u solve x^2+4x+3=0

I could really use help on this algebra question

In order to factor  x2 + 4x + 3
Look at the constant, 3, and the coefficient of the x term, 4.
Are there factors of 3 that add to 4?  Yes... 3(1)
Thus this factors to (x+3)(x+1) = 0
So, as Arturo said, if either x+3 or x+1 is zero, then the polynomial is zero.
Thus, x=-1 or x=-3
