If the positive integers 15,9,5,7 and x have a mean and median that are identical, what is the value of x?

I don't know where to start with this problem.

When there are five numbers, the median is the one in the middle. The average between highest and lowest is not the median, in general.

Daniel's answer x=14 means that the data, in ascending order, is 5, 7, 9, 14, 15  which totals 50 and which has average 10.
The median (see list above) is 9, the mean is 10.     WRONG!
