How to Complete a Table by Direct Variation.

Question

If y=kx then Complete a table.. 

X...|4|6|--|15|

Y...|2|--|3.5|--| Sorry I couldn't draw the Table properly!!!

If I am reading the table correctly, the first X and Y entries are used to solve for k:

 

2 = 4k.   k = .5

 

From there you would solve for Y in the next set of entries:  Y = (.5)(6)   Y = 3

 

Then solve for X:  3.5 = (.5)(X)  X = 7

 

And finally another Y:  Y = (.5)(15)   Y = 7.5
