Does anyone know if Confederate and Union deserters ever travel together?

It occurred to me that Union and Confederate Soldiers may have met while they were deserting across enemy lines. Is it possible or was it ever know for deserters of both sides to travel together to avoid being captured by either side?

Of course this could happen. Once a deserter, one essentially joins the anti-war faction, and both Rebs and Feds would have that as an overriding common belief.
