The question is what type of transformation occured to the function f (x)= -X

... Its obviously a linear function and the book says its a reflection but the debate between my teacher and I is whether its reflection over the x axis or y axis. Please help!

It's a reflection across the y-axis because the y-coordinates remain the same; but, the x-coordinates all become negative.

Thank you for your response but I dont understand your reasoning. It says y=-x... I unserstood that the x remains the same and to get the y you multiply the x by negative one. If I am wrong what would be the function for reflection against the x axis.
