Empty 1000 gallon fish pond.  Hose delivers one quart every 30seconds.  Hose turned on at 7am and left on till the next day at same time.  How full is the pond?

7am -7am next day = 24 hours
60 minutes in an hour x 24 hours = 1440 minutes
30 seconds = ½ minute
1440 minutes x 2 (# of quarts per minute) = 2880 quarts
So, in the time that has lapsed, the pond has acquired 2880 quarts of water
    4 quarts = 1 gallon
    2880 quarts / 4 (quarts per gallon) = 720 gallons
720 gallons (amount of water) /1000 gallons (amount pool holds) = .72 x 100% = 72%
ANSWER: Pool is 72% full
