Olivia runs 10 meters diagonally across a rectangular field that has a width of 6 meters. Find the length of the rectangular field.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem

a²+b²=c²

a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse of the right triangle formed by the diagonal

6²+b²=10²

36+b²=100

b²=100-36

b²=64

b=8 meters
