set x+2 = 0 and find x.

x = -2

write that to the side as below and place the coefficients to the right.

The coefficients of the polynomial we are dividing are 2, -3, 0 (for x) and -5. Bring the first coefficient down and then multiply by -2. write the product under the next coefficient, add and repeat.

2x^2 - 7x + 14 is the quotient, and -33 is the remainder.
