the numbers 2,3,5
the symbol *and $
i)Find the number of different security codes that many be chosen (Ans 20160)
ii) the security code are next to each other in the security code (Ans 3600)

(i) We have 3+3+2=8 symbols which may be used. Their order is important.

Judging by the provided answer they should be all different. We are to choose 6 symbols:

8*7*6*5*4*3=20160.

(ii) You did not say what symbols should be next to each other. The provided text is not sufficient to understand and solve the problem.
