Question's wording is not clear. However, if each side of the triangle is doubled (a uniform dilation), then the area of the enlarged version of the original equation will be FOUR times the original triangle's area (similar triangles). This factor of 4 comes about by virtue of each linear measurement having been doubled. Look at the formulas for area to see why this is so.
