1) C=O in parentheses is unnecessary in writing condensed formulas for ketones as outlined by iupac rules for nomenclature.  This applies to other carbonyl containing compounds such as aldehydes (-CHO), carboxylic acids (-COOH) and esters (-COOR).
 
2) IUPAC has also recently revised their rules for indicating the position of the carbonyl carbon when naming ketones.  Phonetically, it is easier to say "3-hexanone", but as per the new rules, hexan-3-one is the correct nomenclature.
