there are 12 men on a basketball team and in a game 5 of them play at any one time.if the game is 1 hour long and each man plays exactly the same amount of time, How many minutes does each man play?

1. The game has a duration of one hour, or 60 minutes.
2. Since 5 men play at any one time, there are 60 minutes * 5 men = 300 "Man-minutes" available.
3. If all 12 men play the same amount of time, then each man is playing 300/12 = 25 minutes.

The game uses 5 people on a team and the game lasts for 1 hour.  That's 5 person-hours of playing time.

 

There are 60 minutes per hour, so that is 300 (that is, 5*60) person-minutes of playing time per game.

 

If each of the 12 players get the same amount of playing time, they get 300/12 = 25 minutes each.
