need help please

Question

select the first five terms in the arithmetic sequence an=4n, starting with n=1

 

I think this means the five terms are 4,8,12,16,20.

Is this right or am I doing it wrong. I need help bad.

(a)(1)=(4)(1)

a=4

 

n=2

(a)(2)=(4)(2)

The 2 cancels on each side...

a=4

 

n=3

(a)(3)=(4)(3)

The three cancels on each side...

a=4

 

an=4n

The n cancels on each side...

a=4

 

Perhaps you have the wrong equation?
