There was $25 at the end, so Ravi's parents put in the rest.  That's $25-$20 = $5.  And there were 5 days, so Ravi's parents put in $1+$1+$1+$1+$1 = $5.  They put in $1 each day.

 

But if the total is different, at least you know now how to get the answer.
