NH4CN would dissociate into the ions NH4 and CN when dissolved. These two ions have charges of +1 and -1, respectively. K ions have a +1 charge. This means that the K ion would be attracted to, and bind with, the CN ion in a 1 to 1 ratio, giving the salt KCN
