A man sells items. At prices. And you are looking - I THINK - for the price of a hot dog. Anyway, I let
H = price of hot dog
D = price of drink
C = price of chips
with prices in dollars. And here's what I know:
H = D + 0.5
2H = D + 1.75
With these two equations I will find out that H = 1.25.
Then, I can use either one of them to find that D = 0.75.
Now, for the other equation.
2H + 5C + 2D = 10.5
2.5 + 5C + 1.5 = 10.5
5C = 6.5
C = 1.5
So there we have it. The dogs are $1.25, the chips are $1.50 and the drinks are 75 cents. Cheers!
