Since the sign of the last term is positive, the sign of both factors must be the same.

Since the sign of the middle term is positive, then both factors are positive.

 

so we need factors of 30 which when added together the sum is 13

 

1    30    sum=31  no

2    15    sum=17  no

3    10    sum=13  YES!!!

 

 

(y+3)(y+10)
