How do I simplify 6x^2+4x divided by 2x?

I don't know how you can simplify 6x^2 and 4x if the 4x isn't squared like the 6x^2

Each term of 6x²+4x is a multiple of 2x.  6x²=3x × 2x and 4x=2×2x So that

(6x²+4x)/(2x)=3x+2
