I am assuming that this is supposed to be 1+5/x=2/x
First thing I would try to do is get rid of those fractions. The easiest way is to multiply both sides by x.
This gives you:
x(1+5/x)=(2/x)x
Distributing out the x will give you:
x+5=2
Subtract 5 from both sides to give you x=-3
To check your answer plug this back into the original equation:
[1+(5/-3)] = (2/-3)
3/3 - 5/3 = - 2/3
-2/3 = -2/3
Hope this helps!
