250% of $210,000

250% commission of $210,000 - I don't know who to figure this out but I was told it was $43,750. What does the math formula look like?

An alternate interpretation is that the $210,000 was a 250% commission. 

 

210000 = 2.5 x

84,000 = x 

 

And that does not work either. 

 

My suggestion is that the student make sure the problem is accurately written.

A percent is a number out of 100.

 

250% = 250/100 = 2.5

 

 

Multiply the commission by $210,000.

 

2.5 × $210000 = $525000

 

 

If $43,750 is the answer from your book, then I think the book made a mistake.
