Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line that passes through (4, 2) represented by -2x + y = 7

i so need help in algebra especially slopes.

Andrew M.

To put into slope-intercept form you simply need to put the equation into the format y = mx + b
So solve the equation for y

-2x + y = 7
y = 2x + 7

However this line does not pass through the point (4,2)
since setting x = 4 we get y = 15....
Something isn't correct in your original information

Is it possible that you meant an equation of a line that passes through (4,2) and is parallel to -2x+y=7?

Or perpendicular?
