All we had to do was to subtract 15 from each side.

Standard form is just to have the quadratic expression on the left, and 0 on the right, and to write in order of the powers of the variable -- such as ax² +bx + c = 0

 

So to get this equation into standard form, all you have to do is subtract 15 from both sides:

 

4x² - 4x = 15

4x² - 4x - 15 = 0
