4.Simplify quantity x squared plus 2 x over quantity 12 x plus 54 end quantity minus quantity 3 minus x over quantity 8 x plus 36
5.Simplify 2 over quantity x squared plus 8 x plus 15 end quantity plus 1 over quantity x squared plus 11 x plus 30

In number 1, I interpret what is stated as such: ( t² + 6t)  -    7      =  t² + 6t - 7   Then factor the t² + 6t - 7 into

                                                                       (t - 1)        (t - 1)        (t - 1)

(t + 7)(t - 1)  .  The two factors (t - 1) negate each other and the final answer is (t + 7) .

    (t - 1) 

 

In number 2:    3     +    13         get a common denominator  x (x - 11) and your new numerator is 3(x - 11) + 13x

                       x        (x - 11)

so    3x - 33 + 13x =     16x - 33   .  There is no further activity, it is in simplest form here.

                                  x ( x - 11)

 

I don't have time right now to answer 3, 4, & 5.  I will check this tomorrow and try to finish it up.
