asked 09/08/23I took a quiz and got this question wrong. It asks me for the two ICD-10-CM codes for:
Type 1 diabetes with diabetic renal nephrosis, out of control.
I coded E10.21, which appears to be a combination code. I don't think a second code is necessary. Looking at the coding guidelines, there is no secondary code for insulin or other medication, as the condition is out of control. Yet, it was marked wrong. I have another quiz coming up on Sunday, and I am finding coding diabetes incredibly difficult.
