Why do I have to take the LMSW exam?

To earn your license as a professional, Master’s level social worker! Licensure is a form of consumer protection. I encourage social workers to develop a positive relationship with the reality of having to take this exam. By taking this exam, you are doing something positive for yourself, for the clients you will serve, and for the social work profession. Even if you have heard negative remarks from others about the exam, I encourage you to develop your own story through your own experience.
