Centripetal force is the force exerted by an object with a mass when it is in a circular motion. The object with a mass changes direction about a point. It accelerates but the velocity is constant in one direction, which makes velocity and acceleration tangential to each other.
Fc = mac = (mv2)/r
m = mass
v = velocity of the mass
r = the distance between the mass and point of rotation
