An infectious disease is any disease caused by pathogenic microorganisms (i.e. bacteria, viruses). Notifiable diseases or notifiable conditions is a list of conditions that are required to be reported to the health department. Not all infectious diseases are listed on the notifiable condition list and non-infectious diseases can be listed on the notifiable condition list.
