When finding the epidemiology of a particular asymptomatic disease, how are people who have the disease but do not report it factored into the calculations?
Every disease goes through clinical trial/ longitudinal study which is the gold standard. So for the study they would take a large sample from general population and test everyone to see how many have the disease. Out of those that have the disease they will find from the pre filled questionnaires about how many had symptoms and how many were asymptomatic.
