What is the real risk of a future global pandemic?

Ironic that you asked this question in September, and I recently read that the current pandemic may have originated in mid-September. In my opinion, we keep failing to learn the lessons from pandemics and combined with the nature of micro-organisms, we will likely continue to have pandemics in the future.
