Revit allows for computer-based design and analysis of structures, typically commercial and residential buildings. Architects use Revit and similar programs to plan out buildings in a manner similar to when plans were drawn by hand, but working with Revit is often quicker, more detailed, and can be altered easier.
Today most methods of design not involving computers are seen as archaic and outdated.
