Yes, in California there is, but few ever do it that way. You can study under a practicing lawyer or a judge as an "apprentice," but the curriculum or lesson plans have to be approved by the bar and signed off as to content and time spent. Not only is this difficult to do because few judges or lawyers have the time to supervise, but it's my understanding that even so, few pass the bar when they study this way.
