The local smoothie stand a survey showed that 2/3 of all people preferred strawberry smoothies over mango . If 2,400 people responded to the survey, how many people preferred mango smoothies

Hello.

The easiest way to do this is to divide the total number of survey respondents (2,400) by 3.

This gives you 800 people. 800 people is 1/3

2/3's of people said they preferred strawberry... so 2 * 800 = 1,600 people.

1/3 (1 - 2/3) preferred mango. So, 1 * 800 = 800 people

800 people preferred mango smoothies.
