As a composer, it's vitally important that I'm aware of what's happening in the contemporary music world. I find it very difficult to keep myself informed of a field that often flies below the radar of popular culture.Are there any resources for keeping up-to-date on new art music, especially those that are validated by the academic community?

Services like Spotify allow users to create playlists of their favorite music and share them publicly. There are playlists for every genre, where users are adding new music daily. Once you find a few playlists that specialize in the genre you're looking for, in your case new classical composers, follow them and see what is added.

You can also search for blogs specializing in new classical music on Google. If you are passionate about something, chances are other people are too and want to talk about it! Do a quick search and I'm sure you'll find blogs and websites that cover new music and current composers. There is always more music to discover!
